It was never enough to deter from any playthrough nor did it ever become a problem overall, but it is something worth pointing out as it may look as though the game stopped responding for just a brief moment before coming back and being ready to go for the next track. One thing to note is that the loading times before and after each track can feel quite long, especially when the game buffers a few extra seconds in a blank screen.

The different styles can vary from a very anime-inspired look, techno themes, or a realistic display of night and day, as well as many others, will be shown throughout your playthrough with all of them running at a consistent and crisp framerate to ensure the beat never drops. The stages in Musynx all offer a different look throughout most of the songs in the game that ensures you aren’t looking at the same screen over and over.

If a hypothetical multiplayer feature were to be added to Musynx, especially on the Nintendo Switch version, then there certainly could be far greater things that could be done to make the title stand out more in comparison to other rhythm games already on the device. While the single-player aspect of the game offers so much for that said person and breaking personal records are always something that many people cherish to do, but it feels as though Musynx was built with the idea of multiplayer in mind and it really is a shame to see none such features included in the title. It is disappointing that Musynx does not feature a two-player cooperative or multiplayer function especially with the Joy-Con’s ability to offer new possibilities for sharing the experience. The variety between will have players coming back to listen and experience each song that Musynx has to offer and you’ll certainly be listening to many of them on repeat as you try to outdo your high-score on the harder stages down the line. While it certainly caters to a more Eastern oriented audience, there are still tracks that change up the pace and ensures that the similarities between them are as far apart as possible. Musynx comes jam-packed with many tracks ranging from all musical styles such as Rock, Dubstep, Pop and much more. Once hitting even some of the higher “easy” levels, the difficulty of the game quickly ramps up and truly provides a challenge for anyone with enough patience to attempt in completing each stage with the highest rank possible. While the game itself may not punish players during its playthrough, it isn’t to say that it is a slouch either. Doing so will add more sound to the song that you are playing but unlike games such as Rock Band and or Guitar Hero, Musynx doesn’t way you down by having a crowd boo you if you are not hitting the right notes at all times which makes it a more encouraging experience than most. The controls are also fairly easy to grasp with four buttons as you use two of the top buttons on each Joy-Cons (the Right and Top arrows for the left and the X and the A buttons for the right Joy-Con) and attempt to match them for each and every block that comes your way.

This was something that may sound less endearing for other types of experience, but in the case of Mysynx, it works in offering an easy to pick up title that allows the player to choose what they want to play and listen to without any restrictions. You have songs to play through and you get to pick and choose without any delay. From the get-go, you are introduced to an abundance of different tunes and tracks to filter through ranging in difficulty from easy to hard and the style of songs also change with each and every tier. The game doesn’t have much in the line with a story mode or anything else besides playing the many rhythm-based levels Musynx has to offer. While there has certainly been a lack of content from the rhythm game genre, we still have many that have tried to bring out a unique sort of experience and deliver something that fans would surely enjoy playing and Musynx is one such title that delivers on those aspirations and much more. Mostly caused by the downfall of titles such as Rock Band and Guitar Hero, the genre was at the top of the world only to fall to earth as quickly as it rose. The height of the rhythm game genre of the last few generations has come and gone and we have seen far fewer entries of the sorts during this decline.
